External Audit of Self-Assessment 2020

Reports On February 17th, 2020, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Monitoring Team visited Rawalpindi Women University (RWU) to assess the quality enhancement practices for the Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 semesters. The visit included a comprehensive review of teacher and course evaluations, focusing on the effectiveness of the instructional methods and curriculum design. The team also evaluated the outcomes of the First National Conference hosted by RWU, examined the professional development activities conducted for faculty, and assessed the course files for compliance with academic standards. Additionally, the team reviewed the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) implemented for online teaching and learning, ensuring they met the necessary guidelines during the transition to remote education. Surveys conducted with students and teachers provided valuable insights into their experiences with online teaching and learning, highlighting areas of success and identifying opportunities for improvement. The Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) at RWU played a crucial role in coordinating these evaluations and ensuring that all processes aligned with HEC’s quality assurance criteria.

Rawalpindi Women University through its Quality Enhancement Cell successfully organized an External Assessment Audit for Zoology, Chemistry, Botany, Mathematics, Physics , Sociology, Statistics and Business Administration departments. This reflected the institution’s commitment to ensuring quality education and continuous improvement. The audit was conducted by a team of experienced professionals from various reputable institutions:

  • Naveed Kausar Janjua, Department of Chemistry, QAU, Islamabad
  • Dr. Mushtaq Ahmad, Chairman Department of Plant Sciences, QAU, Islamabad
  • Zahid Iqbal, Associate Professor Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad
  • Shoaib Hassan, HoD Management Sciences, NUML
  • Fawad Sadiq, Director QEC, Riphah University.

The Externals congratulated Prof. Dr. Anila Kamal, Vice Chancellor RWU for her faculty members and their team work of managing a budding university in such a professional manner. The QEC team members of Rawalpindi Women University Dr. Baqir Husnain, Additional Director QEC, Ms Iraj Munawar Gill, Assistant Director External Linkages/QEC and Ms Shazia Shoukat, Assistant Director QEC worked closely with the External Assessment Team to ensure the smooth execution of the audit process.

During the session feedback by the Externals was focused on identifying strengths, highlighting areas for improvement, and suggesting measures to enhance the overall quality of education and research. This valuable feedback and encouragement will serve as a guide for the faculty members to further enhance their academic and research endeavors. RWU is determined to implement the recommendations and maintain its position as a reputable institution for higher education in Pakistan.
