U.S. Mission to Pakistan organized an event Black Month History at the RWU

The External Linkages Department in coordination with the U.S. Mission to Pakistan organized an event at the Rawalpindi Women University on Feb 13, 2023 in celebration of Black Month History. The guests included Mr. Sharif Sabir, Director Educational Affairs, Ms. Lia Fischer Neal, Senior Financial Management Officer and Ms. Catherine Fisher, Deputy Cultural Affairs Officer. 

At the library of Rawalpindi Women University, an exhibit was displayed in honor of Black Month History by the U.S Mission which was inaugurated by the guests. The exhibit showcased various interactive elements that highlighted key events in Afro-American and African history from slave trade up until modern day civil rights movements. As part of this event, Lia Fischer Neal briefed the student focusing on key contributions made by Afro-Americans throughout history. It was well received by all present and provided great insight into how far we have come in terms of racial equality. Both parties mutually decided to look forward to further areas of mutual interests and benefits.
